+
+ ## The Intro
+
+Inquistor is sent to England to investigate the uprising of protestant power in north england. 
+His entourage arrives in the city and witnesses the all day live of the people.

+-> beggers

+Then the Inquistor is establishing formal connection with the authority (the mayor and the city council). 
+-> The council states their names and jobs to the inquisitor
+
+
+After that the Inquistor opens an office to wait for accusations. Meanwhile his entourage a.k.a the players are sent out to find heretics and protestants. On their way they will get asked by a woman to investigate the murder of her daughter which the mother fears was a ritual sacrifice.

+# Project Inquisition
+
+## Pitch
+
+It's the month October of the year 1558. It's the time of pope Paul IV of Capriglia Irpina. The power of the catholic church is under attack by protestants and other
+smaller groups of cults. Faithful Inquisitors are sent out from Rome to the edges of medieval europe to suppress any other religious streams and foster the faith in the catholic church.
+Our story will take place in England near the border to the yet independent Scottland. Queen May I also known as 'Bloody Mary' currently rules over England with a tight grip and no 
+mercy for protestants. You are part of inquisitorial entourage which is on its way to Berwick (Berwick-upon-Tweed) near the Scottish border. Your rank is of a peasant but
+yet above them. Your livelihood depends on the support of the Inquisitor Eisenhorn. You have sworn your allegiance to the Inquisitor for your own reasons but also for coin. 
+Your skills will help him fulfil his mission or thwart them.

+Mostly farm land. There is river next to city and a bridge is going over it.

+## How did Inquisitors operate? 
+
+- primary goal was to surpress protestants and support catholics 
+- they had an entourage to help them
+- they would come to a city and establish connection to the local authoraties. after that they would listen for accusations and then start an investigation
+- legal process:
+-- starts by an accusation
+--- real evidence had little to no relevance it was all about reputation
+--- there were investigations and hearings of witnesses
+--- goal was to find people who would 
+- low torture rate, if torture then permanent damage was to be avoided, only with an medic present allowed
+- interest in converting the heretic not harming them
+- lecturing the accused heretic or witchcraft user to make them understand the literature and reforming them to followers
+- heretics were given the choice to repent: they had to wear buesser-roben, if they would not agree then either incarnation or death by secular forces

+## How did they torture?
+
+People were held by ropes like standing and then stretched with a heavy bolder.

+## How to explain all unknowns to players?
+
+## Antagonist?
+
+The city is in a power struggle between catholics and protestants as well as the local authoraties which have not yet decided to side with. 
+Additional to this are crimes happening in the city which can be solved. The Inquisitor is acting as a police force next to the authoraties. 
+The end game consists of either a political frenzy between the factions as they are uncovered or an attack of the city.

+## What is overreaching plot?
+
+The Queen May I is in favor of catholics and uses the free lancing Inquisitors to suppress protestants followers. The players are sent as the entourage of an
+Inquisitor to north of England to Berwick (Berwick-upon-Tweed) as aid to the catholic elite class. The city is under threat of an attack of Scottish armies to
+be liberated of english reign. In the same year Queen MaY I will die and her sister Elizabeth I will take over the crown. This will invert the religious power structure
+and make catholics targets of attack. Therfore the players must decide how to proceed. After that the coming year is all about war with spain, colonization and pirating.
