# Chapter 1

## Overall story of the first chapter
|
||||
The players starts in a moving train having a dinner. They must go through challenges to proof their worth and reveal their powers to
|
||||
the organisation. All of the tests are dangerous and deadly. They need to show the players that only together they can survive. In the end the players have the choice to join the faction or found their
|
||||
own.
|
||||
|
||||
## The Start
|
||||
After the players were discovered by the faction, one by one were convinced/forced to join the initiation ritual. The players start their
|
||||
adventure as they sit together on a table having dinner. The players then have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their
|
||||
personal origin story with the group.
|
||||
|
||||
Situation:

* the carriage has barely enough space to fit the table, on the floor lays a red carpet and a chandelier hangs from the ceiling
|

lighting the room barely enough. On the table are various meals and a lot of candles.

||||
The first chapter starts in the 19 century. Trains and newspapers are a normal thing and inventions are being
|
||||
created everywhere. The world is only years away from the first world war but there are already battles happening behind the
|
||||
curtains of politics. The world is not aware of the magic items some few people possess. Everyone who investigates
|
||||
it or hear's the whispers in the shadwos is being dealt quickly. Countries such as Norway or Britannia are one of
|
||||
the few nations employing shadow armies called [Name] and [Name]. These groups are mere proxies for these nations.
|
||||
Unaware where their allegiance really belongs to these groups scheme for more items and power. Never to become too powerful.
|
||||
|
||||
The player starts as a so called Loner. These type of people do have a token already but have not joined any factions yet.
|
||||
This fact makes them easy pray to any faction who want to salvage their power for their own.

# This repository contains a PnP adventure
|
||||
|
||||
The world in which this adventure will happen is of the victorian time.
|
||||
A world full of mysteries, horrors and wonders. In this reality each player is given
|
||||
an indivdual quirk which is represented through a token. This Item needs to be always with the person it belongs to.
|
||||
It gives a super power but also a downside. These horrofic objects are bound to person but can be stolen. These can only be done
|
||||
through a brutal process which would most certainly kill it's owner or the thief who knocked on the devils door.
|
||||
A player is wise to conceal his/her possesion/quirk. In this game the players are not bound to cooperate and can
|
||||
if they wish so deceive their comrades.
|
||||
|
||||
- Before WW1 but there are war's in the shadows
|
||||
- it is wise to join a faction or you will be killed as a loner
|
||||
|
||||
The story of this adventure is split between three chapters:
|
||||
1. Chapter: The Selection
|
||||
2. Chapter: The Scourge
|
||||
3. Chapter: The Punishment

in the victorian time period. You are a member of very priviliged group of humans among humankind as you possess a power which comes

||||
through bond with a magical item. Magic itself is not possible but it is possible to bend reality with certain items. Those powers
|
||||
come with a burden as they are always connected to a rouiness entity which for example wants to break through the layers of reality
|
||||
to enter the world to be a god or to leach the life from it's host. Think about your power and how your character got into possesion
|
||||
of it. If you want to look for insparation look into the direction of any Lovecraft story. You can be anything, so be everything.
|
||||
|
||||
Pen and Paper is the perfect place the play a role.
|
||||
|
||||

||||
